Research Activities of the Dept. of Biochemistry

Dept of Biochemistry after inclusion of some new faculty members have taken major initiatives in research related to brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases .These research activities in animal and cell based models employ many biochemical and molecular biological techniques and are supported by grants from Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology. Several faculty members of the Department of Biochemistry have made significant contribution in scientific literature in this area. The Department also conducted an International Conference in Neurosciences (Neurocon 2015, 7-10 Jan , 2015) in Haldia, which was attended by a large number of Indian and overseas experts in Neurobiology and Clinical Neurology.
